Farook Jute Mills is a jute products manufacturer and exporter based in Khulna, Bangladesh — one of the country's established jute-producing regions. We manufacture and export jute bags, sacks, fabric (hessian/burlap), rope and twine, rugs and carpets, geotextiles, and a growing range of fashion and home-decor products, supplying wholesalers, retailers, and private-label buyers across Europe, North America and beyond.
Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Khulna, we now produce 103+ product lines, all crafted from natural, biodegradable jute and shipped to buyers across Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.
As a direct manufacturer — not a trading intermediary — we control production from raw fibre through to finished, export-ready product, which means consistent quality, direct-from-mill pricing, and the flexibility to produce to custom specification (GSM, dimensions, and finish) per order. All production is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, and orders ship FOB Chittagong, typically in full container quantities.

About jute
What is jute?
Jute is a natural, biodegradable bast fibre extracted from the stem and outer skin of plants in the genus Corchorus. It’s grown mainly in Bangladesh and eastern India, where the warm, humid climate and river-delta soil produce the long, strong fibres the industry calls “the golden fibre.” After harvest, the stalks are retted (soaked) to loosen the fibre from the woody core, then stripped, washed and dried by hand before spinning.
What is jute made of?
Jute fibre is made mainly of cellulose, with hemicellulose and lignin — the same structural plant compounds found in wood — which is what gives it its strength, coarse texture and natural biodegradability. Unlike cotton, which is a seed fibre, jute is a bast fibre: it comes from the plant’s stem, similar to flax and hemp.
What is jute used for?
Jute is used to make sacks and bags, woven and non-woven fabric (hessian/burlap), rope and twine, rugs and carpets, geotextiles for erosion control, and a growing range of fashion and home-decor products. Its combination of strength, low cost and biodegradability makes it a standard material for packaging and agricultural use worldwide, and a popular sustainable alternative to synthetic fibres in retail and fashion.
Is jute better than cotton?
It depends on the use case. Jute is stronger, cheaper and has a lower environmental footprint per kilogram than cotton, making it better suited to packaging, sacks and heavy-duty bags. Cotton is softer, more consistent in dye uptake, and better suited to apparel or fine printed retail totes. Is jute biodegradable?
Yes. Jute fully biodegrades, typically within a few months to about two years depending on the product form and environmental exposure, without leaving microplastic residue — one of the main reasons it’s specified for erosion-control geotextiles and sustainable packaging.
Is jute the same as hessian or burlap?
Hessian and burlap are both names for plain-woven fabric made from jute — hessian is the term more common in the UK and Europe, burlap in North America. They’re the same material; see our hessian and burlap fabric.
